[Jarvis is a bit less well-kept than usual, wearing just his tie with his rolled up sleeves. Proper cannibal-planet-crash apparel, you see! He is more than content to pick comfort over style today. Wiping his brow after flipping a table upright, he moves to join Matt's side.]
Thank goodness -- and it looks like the ship isn't as much of a lost cause at it first seemed.
[Good for you, Bishop.]
... Though the food supply is still all over the place. Unfortunately.
We'll manage somehow. [Matt's not entirely sure how, but it's that or die. So maybe he'll go...hunting or something. Despite never doing that before in his life or even knowing what the fuck around here is edible.] Where's Howard? Still working inside?
[Doesn't bother to mask his grin. You totally just tried to give him a look just now, didn't you J] Thanks for the compliment.
It's not something I like to advertise. But here, in a situation like this, even if I wear the mask and all I wouldn't have been able to hide it forever. [Even Matt can admit it was inevitable; there are so many white guys around his height in his age group that anybody even mildly determined could whittle it down to. Not to mention that gaggle of people who already just apparently know.]
Echolocation? [Matt snorts, but at least Jarvis isn't going BUT YOU CAN SEE RIGHT at him.] Sort of. I don't have to make any noise myself...and temperature variances and smells factor into it too, but yeah. That's probably the easiest way to explain it. ['World on fire' sounds cool but doesn't tend to get the reaction he shoots for. Foggy.]
[Gift...Stick always called it that too. Usually along with some guilt-tripping about using it correctly. It's actually kind of nice getting to talk about this stuff without having to be defensive about it.]
About every day. Never been in space, so the vacuum beyond the ship hulls is pretty terrifying. And there are plenty of uh, non-human people without heartbeats, odd scents, things like that. [At least those cannibals stink like old blood so Matt can smell them coming from a mile away, because those fuckers are stealthy.]
[Jarvis, that's...oddly sweet, actually, even if it's kinda lame]
You get used to it. The quiet's actually helping me single out specific sounds. [Is he going to get all defensive if Matt tells him this? ...well whatever, he'll do it anyway and if he gets weirded out that his problem.] I can tell the difference between crewmates because of the sounds of their heartbeats, thanks to that. And I can tell when there's something wrong with the engines.
[Howard surely had been just as anxious as he was, at learning about the Avengers and Tony Stark. He had not dug too deeply, other than being aware of a few key points, but Mr. Stark was a very nosy person as it was...]
Do you know anything about any of them? The other Avengers, I mean. Likes, dislikes, anything that might help me introduce myself without making it too clumsy.
... Unfortunately, I'm very much dead by the time the Avengers actually — assemble. But! I do know Miss Romanoff and Mr. Rogers very well thanks to living among them here. Or have you already made their acquaintance, at this point?

That's usually just when he's busy experimenting.

Best he be in his element, I suppose. I must say, I'm surprised at how much... this sort of thing is in your element.

And realizes that his looks are ineffective. Because he's fucking blind.]
... Clearly. A normal city boy who gives Miss Carter a run for her money in throwing people around.

Though I must admit, I hadn't noticed the similarities. You're a bit more polite when you're not breaking windows and leaping fences.

But anyway, Jarvis just shrugs, a bit more pleased.]
Despite that, I'm more than happy to meet another hero from my world.
Is your ability... Oh, what is it...
[Give him a second.]

That ability dolphins have!

Sound, smell, and temperature... interesting.
You've quite the gift, Mr. Murdock.
...
Have you found anything strange here with your senses, aboard the fleet?

You must feel especially out of your element.
... Though I suppose we all are, save for the space-faring crew members...

I owe Mr. Stark a great deal, however, so I suppose I can tolerate whatever his personality has to offer.
