It's not something I like to advertise. But here, in a situation like this, even if I wear the mask and all I wouldn't have been able to hide it forever. About every day. Never been in space, so the vacuum beyond the ship hulls is pretty terrifying. And there are plenty of uh, non-human people without heartbeats, odd scents, things like that. [At least those cannibals stink like old blood so Matt can smell them coming from a mile away, because those fuckers are stealthy.]

You get used to it. The quiet's actually helping me single out specific sounds. [Is he going to get all defensive if Matt tells him this? ...well whatever, he'll do it anyway and if he gets weirded out that his problem.] I can tell the difference between crewmates because of the sounds of their heartbeats, thanks to that. And I can tell when there's something wrong with the engines.
