You get used to it. The quiet's actually helping me single out specific sounds. [Is he going to get all defensive if Matt tells him this? ...well whatever, he'll do it anyway and if he gets weirded out that his problem.] I can tell the difference between crewmates because of the sounds of their heartbeats, thanks to that. And I can tell when there's something wrong with the engines.

[Howard surely had been just as anxious as he was, at learning about the Avengers and Tony Stark. He had not dug too deeply, other than being aware of a few key points, but Mr. Stark was a very nosy person as it was...]

What do you need help with, though?

Do you know anything about any of them? The other Avengers, I mean. Likes, dislikes, anything that might help me introduce myself without making it too clumsy.

... Unfortunately, I'm very much dead by the time the Avengers actually — assemble. But! I do know Miss Romanoff and Mr. Rogers very well thanks to living among them here. Or have you already made their acquaintance, at this point?
